Why another training diary?

Ok several training software products exists. We know the software which Polar ships with their heartrate monitors (Polar Precision Performance former Polar Training Advisor, Polar Personal Trainer and we also know that lots of other programs exist (e.g. PCCoach and software which comes with various other heartrate monitors). Another nice (and free!) approach of a web application is Jogmap, which uses Google maps to define and measure the distance of your tracks. So we'll find a lot of nice approaches and ideas in various products.

Strampel wants to combine the best of all! Strampel lets you share your data between the various applications.

Features

• Platform independance because it is 100% pure Java
• easy setup via Java Webstart (no extra database will be required)
• import (and possibly export) of Polar Heartrate monitor (.hrm .ppd files) and other heartrate monitors data
• direct import of data from your heartrate monitor
• tons of reports (like those in Polar Performance Precision)
• definition of your tracks (like or via jogmap) and combine them in on workout (e.g. run to your forest, take 2 rounds of your forest trail, and run back to your home)
• upload / sync of data with jogmap and Polar personal trainer
• evaluate your track records (what was my fastest run/ride on track xy)
• reports about your equipment: how many kilometers did I run with which shoe? How long do I run which shoe?
